what to do...i'm such a freak for Jap cuisine!!
this one's a gem as i came out smiling from ear to ear while rubbing my rounder-than-usual belly with much glee and satisfaction.
this was where i went on the day i took leave for no particular reason (really!)...
having heard of this place numerous times, it was nice to finally make it here. no wonder it's so widely-mentioned - this place is like pj's version of Bintang Walk, crawling with pubs and cafes at every nook and corner!
but for now, i was more interested with this section of Solaris...
my stummy was literally screaming out 'Sashimi! Unagi! Sashimi! Unagi!' by the time i saw this sign ...
the decor was very impressive; better than Jogoya's i would say, and diners have the option of having their meals outside (during night time, i guess),
i heard that this place was jam-packed when it initially opened, so lucky for me, the place was pretty empty that day..cause everyone else was at work? heee...
my buffet partner that day
as i 'sniffed' around looking for that familiar metal dish packed to the brim with layers of generously-portioned thick slices of unagi soaked in teriyaki sauce, well...much to my chagrin, there weren't any..(!)
the only unagi i found were a handful of skimpy looking 'dry' ones stuck onto sushi rice balls..*wailing* WaaaaaHH...
so i guess my only consolation was seeing those raw oysters, scallops and
fried soft-shelled crabs!
the sashimi salmon beside it IS though...
they also served singapore chilli crabs...and i chose the meatiest part of all!!
they got nice fresh succulent big prawns,
i think all in all, we ordered about 8 plates of fish...
including fierce-looking ones like this.
and those with their mata terbeliak.
too much seafood? there's herbal chicken soup
and damnnnnn good lamb!! i can still taste it in my mouth!!
stay away from the sushi rice rolls, these stomach-fillers are strictly forbidden!
sukiyaki in miso soup....very tasty as well. the 2nd time i'm having sukiyaki.
i'm a mushroom lover...i'm a mushroom lover...i'm a mushroom lover! ^_^
i've never seen this wide a selection of cakes in any buffet dessert corner.
how to stuff in all the cake when they even have a chocolate fountain!
and their drinks? the norm really; the only interesting thing i find is their 12 types (w0w!) of tea brewing in the hot-pot, mostly flower tea (blueberry, rose, jasmine, 'names-i-can't pronounce', etc...)
yin must have drank about 5 of them, even grabbing a last one on our way out from restaurant! shame shame, yin.. ;*> this girl spent her longest ever time in a buffet....4 hours!
wow! sure looks tempting!
