Rainforest ... the 'Sports Bar' kind

This is Rainforest Sports Bar, Pavilion...ok the logo, at least. And these are photos taken of it, which I can't say I'm particularly proud of ;)
You see, it was a very dark bar cum restaurant plus the fact that none of us were using those state-of-the-art camera hps, so we had to make do with what we got. Didn't help either that there was this 'No Photography Allowed' signage posted all around us. So, playing discreet was our game.
Well, the consolation from me is just enjoy the lighting of this place or maybe this is how the place would look like after having one too many drinks in Rainforest.
At least me and Yin don't look too bad here.
If this Green Curry Pizza looks like someone is shining a torchlight at it, well you're wrong.
Someone was using his handphone light (to brighten up its surroundings),
whilst another phone was used to snap the photos. Creative or what.
This Roast Chicken is damn sedap. Check out the shine on its glazed skin. I recall roasting a chicken ala Jamie Oliver style that turned out looking THIS good too.
This place doesn't serve Heineken leh...where caannn...
No choice lor, have to 'look contented' with Carlsberg.
The effects of drinking too much too fast when you're too hungry - you plop yourself on the ground wherever and refuse to budge.
and very quickly, everything you put in comes up again before you can even say 'I am Not Drunk.'
If you are interested, from now till 31 Mar, enjoy a 20% off the ala carte menu using your Citibank Credit Card.
Even better if you're a UOB Credit Card holder - you get 50% off their selected menu plus a free game of pool, I heard. This was the promo we took, well worth our money with the food jolly good!

PPP ^_^

Nothing political-la,

just want to say ...

participate in my poll, people...

I've created my own poll (see sidebar) and I would love YOU to be part of it!

It's for me to know you better, of course ^_^

So, what are you waiting for?

Ayam Penyet

"Hey siu V, this chicken looks so cute-la. Let's eat here!"

"Wah like that also can-ar?"

And that's how I had my first taste of 'ayam penyet' (flattened chicken).
I believe it originated from Singapore, though it's an Indonesian dish they're serving. While there are already 4 outlets in Singapore, the sole restaurant in Malaysia is at The Curve (1st Floor, Unit 132). In fact, it's so isolated in one corner, we just happened to stumble upon it. I can't even remember what shops were beside them... =_=
If you're lucky, you see their guy distributing this pamphlet nearby.
Yup, their specialty is 'flattened fried Chicken'...unfortunately, not too flattened as I soon discovered.
Just so you get an idea on their drink prices.
They name my pinkish drink 'Soda Gembira' (Happy Soda), which is (according to my friend), F&N Strawberry and milk but it tasted more like Sirap Bandung to me...?
We had a separate order of plain rice & crackers,
to go along with the Fried Chicken set.
Personally, I did not feel the chicken was really that flattened, and it wasn't as tender as I hope it'd be. It felt like kampung chicken.
But the sambal belacan you see here is extre-eme-ly HOT!
And if your food arrives late, they've got this disclaimer to take care of it.
smart.
Check out their prices at www.waroengpenyet.com.
An unlikely song they chose to attach on their website too.
Was expecting the Numa Numa song from Chicken Little... phak phak phak!

At Choy Phyll's

Fierce.

Fiesty.

She's a hot hoochie mama.

The iron lady of AXA.

and we do not mess with her.

So no one dare turn down the invitation to her crib for a small CNY get-together, even if it could well be our last meal lest this 'wicked witch of the West' decides to poison the tomyam soup.
oh~oh, I know I'm gonna 'get it' from Choy Phyll after this...
who am I kidding...
Choy Phyll's a sweet sweet 'mummy' to us all......for some reason, I have called her 'mai' (means mum) on several occasions.
So sweet she invited this bunch of 'hooligans' into her cosy little home in Taman OUG.
So cosy that we even enjoyed posing outside her toilets.

Either this is everyone pretending to be busy or there's some kind of chopstick war going on.
Crate of Guinness Stout (in the oddest of its bottling) and Bacardi Lemon courtesy of Vern, the self-proclaimed EX-drinker.
Dad, if you're reading this..........I DON'T DRINK...................
.......and drive.
Glorious Foooood....making it simple this year with home-cooked food! Added dishes by Ai Lin (Yee-Sang) and Jojo (some yammy-porky-thingy from Tawau). Damn sedaaap!
Too bad lor have to sacrifice myself from being in this photo.....
maybe that's why I cropped their faces...*evil laugh*
Q: Why does Moon look so afraid of the electric steam-boat pot?
A: Because he was afraid he'll be electrocuted by it.
Solution : Stand-by with a wooden stick to either
a) pry him away from the electric source or
b) whack him to instant death to end a long slow suffering from electrocution.
(told you we were a bunch of hooligans)
I declare this 'The Pot of Untouchables'. Don't get me wrong, I luuuurve steamboat...just not the ...balls and crabstick!
Now TOMYAM I like!
And we each grew older by a year (again?) by having a bowl of 'tong yuen' as well.
Please remember that I only go for the peanut-filling ones, thank you....hee-hee.
'Attack of the Killer Kangkungs!!!'
Yin and the mysterious 'wind' effect...
At some point during the din din, some of us needed some shut-eye...
I always found it a challenge for the photographer when it comes to taking group shots...
we should always practise 'Simultaneous Blinking of the Eye (SBE)', otherwise we'll all end up with Take 1...
Take 2................(and then we gave up!)
Agnes was late! Grrrr...
and Kah Hee was even LATER! X@I!~O#$
I really like this photo, man...Such a nice family shot can only be taken by yours truly! >,<
You sure know how to drink like a PRO, Vern..
and end up looking like a PRO-wn (prawn)
no la (Dad), I was going for my Kickapoo...*hic*
Gambling Beauties...don't mess with us.....! We play BIGGGGG.......(see the RM1 notes in my hands)
This was the Banker, Mr Yong (CP's hubby) and his lovely assistant (daughter), Carmen. None of us were 'bold/ rich' enough to be banker. hahaha.
Yes, just like at home, I help my 'mummy' do the dishes too after dinner!
Bird's Nest for Choy Phyll in appreciation for a lovely meal and wonderful hospitality.
Enjoy the saliva!

There, that's all on my CNY celebrations...I swear! So yesterday, I know... :-)

CNY Celebrations ~ AXA

It was a simple CNY get-together for the staff of AXA at our training centre in Ampang.
These were the 2 most attractive 'heads' at the event, the more 'kow-tows' made by the 'lion', the more wealth and prosperity shall be achieved, moving towards the company's 358..?...338 ah..? er..or is it 345 million budget this year. As simple as that..haha.. Showing off each other's dance moves
Sometimes when you stare at them too long,
you can get frightened by them like Pei Pei and Cindy
Our CEO, Mr Jega whom just appeared in The Star papers couple of days ago
'LOOK at THE CAMERA!!' we were told, but obviously only I listened... -_-
The many 'mini' contests held were -
1) Guess the Number of Oranges (which my guess turned out 2 biji shy from the winning number...! UURRGHHH...*pull hair in EXTREME RAGE* ..I missed out on the greatest prize of all.........................the basket of oranges itself.. =_=)
2) Who Can Peel and Eat Oranges the Fastest? - Bet these people would not be looking so happy had the organisers not limit it to 4 oranges only...Otherwise, we would be here for ages!
3) Best Dressed in CNY Traditional Costume - the MAIN reason I went, to support Choy Phyll of course!
Among the finalists - Shirlyn, Cindy, Normala and Choy Phyll.
Guess what, Normala won for her 'extra' effort of joining in the fun! Better luck next festival, CP...or maybe bigger fan next time.
I had so much to laugh about then, I'm gonna keep quiet for now.
Lim, Louis (our Sports Club Pres.), Tan, Ng (IT Big Guy), Jason (Auditor) and Syukri (HR Head) - the male population in AXA is made up of various shapes and sizes Meet our new head of Actuarial, Mr SYLVAN.........that's so like my name! In fact, I found 3 Sylvia, 1 Sylvi and this Sylvan working in AXA currently...Goes to show how cooool my name is!We should have a get-together ourselves.
Yee Sang is not left out either!
The higher the toss, the better! Nevermind if they all end up outside the plate.
Oh wait, I also came for the food.
Everyone was seeing RED that day...
see what I mean...
Me and Ai Lin who looked soooooo damn adorable in her pink 'farm-girl' outfit
Sexy bootie-licious Choy Phyll should have won la :>
