parthay for evie, ian, ryan

I always look forward to any kid's birthday party for the food and great fun that makes me feel like a kid all over again. Whatmore when it's a party to celebrate not one, but 3 kiddos!
Meet my brother in law's sister, Jade's twin boys Ian and Ryan who turns 5 and my sweet niece Evie who just turned 1!

At home, my own little monkeys are all dressed up to head to the party.

I recall my last visit to Chili Espresso in Sooka Sentral for Chun Beng's Pierre's 1 yo celebration.. This time around, they've moved to Nexus Bangsar. Not a very spacious restaurant, we had the whole place to ourselves.
One of the main attractions has got to be the picture booth set against a red backdrop of a tree and hanging deco.
It was so fun watching everyone scrambling to take their best poses for the camera, especially when there's a timer involved. May have cost 1k to bring this booth in but at least everyone went home with at least a polaroid memory on print!
Thanks to Jade and Cindy for playing decorator to this entire restaurant. Everything was tip top and perfect!
Uncle Richard and parents came from Mcca too.
Goodie bag awaits every present child!
The dining area and what it feels like to dine al fresco style.

Food!

Meet baby Evie!
Sarah and Evie
And then it was time to eat.

A rojak of everything on my plate.
All kids get to play in this small lil corner.
Baby hayley.

Cake cutting time for the 3 very lucky kids.! Even my sister cant recall what made her look so shocked. Lol.

All together now...
This is Evie's birthday cake upclose. The cute giraffe on it is an exact replica of Evie's fave soft toy.

Last but not least, the photo booth pics!!

And because of the loose fitting dress i was wearing that day, 3 people asked if i was pregnant! Hahaha... My aunt even congratulated me right away.
Well sorry to disappont that there's no bun in the oven. Time to get rid of this dress too. ><

darren's first report card

Last Saturday was another proud parent moment for me and Mark as we collected Darren's first ever report card on his first semester exam results. Yup, even kindergarten level have to sit for exams wan, man!

Even I have never come out first in any class watsoever. I must admit i was very skeptical at first that Darren could even complete his exam papers (yea bad mama rite?), so THIS came as a shocker indeed. After speaking to his teacher on his behaviour in class and all, she pretty much sums up Darren as 'intelligent but quiet'! My brain interpreted that as 'oh oh, a nerd in the making?' 😂

The entire kindergarten was full of the kids' artwork and mini projects throughout the first semester.

Acting like a 'jakun', we were so excited scrambling around every nook and corner looking for Darren's masterpieces.  First time ma,... Second sem won't be so hyped up dy im sure. Lol

Darren pieces found!

Art competition winners got their works of art displayed as well! Nope, the one Mark's pointing to is not Darren's.

Some dried flowers and leaves that we had to hunt high and low for, especially for someone staying in a condo!

Look at the perfectly colored animals from the 4-year old category winners.

And this is Darren's. Ribbitt.

Met one of his friends at kindy.... She's 4 too, by the way.

One of Darren's prizes.

The main prize; something i never even knew existed when i was Darren's age.

Ta-daaaa.....

An exceptionally delighted father made his son exceptionally happy coz he got to eat McD that morning!
Keep up the awesomeness, my pleasantly quiet / quietly pleasant boy!!

2016 cny throwback

Who talks about lou sang in May? Just me... As im doing my 2016 cny roundup pics here. Lol. As usual we always have no less than 5 sessions of lou sang in Imbi each cny. Best part of it? The additional home-made touch to it by the inclusion of the freshest vege and pear/apple strips and fragrant 'daun limau purut' into it.
We don't call it a reunion dinner in Imbi without the best crispiest Roast Pork! Yea baby...
First morning of cny is all about gathering at Imbi grandma's place to enjoy delicious longevity noodles and for ang pow exchange of course!

Cousins Darren, Tristan and Hayley all dressed in red.

Cny in Melaka...

Favourite pastime of the kids is definitely ball kicking around the garden.

Hay cant kick yet so she'll just be observing closely for now.

Darren finds the Spidey mask made by my big brother during his school days. Easily some 30 years ago but still kept in great condition by mom.

Fam photo underneath our golden glowing pineapple.

One with mom and dad

Jason's family were too kind to invite us for a private Peranakan dinner at its Malacca Association building.
Originally a Peranakan house, this place still holds its true features and design of an authentic Baba Nyonya house.

The huge hall where the dinner was held.
The live band made up of these youngsters were awesome!

The food too stayed true to its Nyonya flavours.

Having some shots around the house

Millie's failed wefie.. Lol
Fun games for the night.

Even dancing competition for the kids. Darren was super sporting, strutting his grooves on the dance floor.
Thumbs up from Darren for winning a prize.

For someone who hates drinking water, he drank so much of it that night.. Much to my amusement especially when he strikes this pose while downing his water.
Family photo of the night
My niece Evie watches closely at mom. She's such a cutie pie isnt she?

Just 3 months apart, there will come a day when these 2 cousins play masak-masak together..

... And these 2 boys play ball in the field?

With gong gong

Who gets ready accommodation the size of the entire room? My mom does!

Dear's annual form 6 cny gathering in Choo Ta's house

So many are married with kids now, its a must to have an area for the children to play and mingle.

The serving of humongous fishballs is a usual thing in Choo Ta's house.

Darren looking pleased with his newly purchased doctor kit.

Another annual Makan-makan with ex colleagues. This time around, in Damansara village Steamboat, Imbi.
A must-have!

No idea what was ordered coz i arrived late but here they are...i see scallops!!

Cant wait to dig in!
Loved the variety of ingredients... I didnt even managed to try each and every one of it! The food quality though fresh, was so so to me.
Village chicken was tasty but as usual, i always prefer a more tender 'bak jam' chicken.

During the entire night, i think we spent more time in front of the camera than actually enjoying our dinner.

Courtesy of yin peng, we all got a nice toast for cny.
What an honour when everyone wanted to pose with hayley. 😘

Cny is never complete without my usual house hopping...like to the house of Mary Goh...

...and the coziness of siew fong's new crib
Awesome lunch prepared by auntie.
At kbj's house, we are always welcomed by her nephew Samuel and his huge collection of toys.
Totally like Darren's wonderland here.
Good company that came to visit.
Nice catching up with ex colleagues at Lau Heong.
Hay with Derek's boy
Last but no least, another lunch with ex JLT buddies, all of whom has left except for Cheryl.
At Longhorn Steakhouse... They even served yee sang but we didnt order any coz it felt rather out-of-place. Lol

Alicia was my partner in crime during JLT days...

With newly-wed Cheryl, one of the most patient girl i've ever worked with. Miss ya girl!

It was a very eventful 2016 cny for me but the best part of it has got to be the treasured moments spent with my loved ones. Lets all continue to be bestowed with good luck and good health this year and quit monkeying around ya!
