Jed and Jacklyn Tie The Knot =^.^=

Here's another wedding announcement of one of my ex-colleagues. Really, what's with so many people getting married in the months Nov and Dec each year? Is there something to do with couples hoping to get more ang-pow right before pockets are emptied for CNY? Hehe, correct me if I'm wrong..Frankly, I was rather honoured Jac invited me to her din din as we had only known each other (in person & in the company) for about 4 months, perhaps? I guessed it had something to do with us being lunch partners.

I had heard from Jac that this wedding din din was planned like a year ago as this venue is unimaginably popular and difficult to book. Plus, a certain someone even told me minimum RM 100 as angpow! Pressure, pressure...So, I was thinking the food must be fantastic with abalone and scallops and sea cucumber? Hoho, you will never find me craving for those delicacies as I'm not a fan of them. I think the only 'rich-man's food' I enjoy is sharksfin. My mum used to say 'bodoh-la'. hee hee.

The simple yet elegant reception area of Oriental Pearl Restaurant, Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club. Last time I was here many years ago was to attend a concert for boy band, Blue :-)

Choy Phyll, Moon, Jacklyn (the happy bride) and Me
The banquet hall which is a very long one. We were seated towards the back and as I took a long walk towards the front of the hall...

Hurray, 'A' means we'll be served good clean food!

I finally made my way towards the front of the stage and managed to get this shot before more guests had their eyes glued on me, wondering if I was some hired photographer/ close relative who kept clicking away.
I soon noticed there were more 'uncles and aunties' in the front section of the hall, while it was all youngsters at the back (eh-hem, that includes me of course)

'
Me, Fong Fong, Yong (it's been so long!) & Choy Phyll (wow, love that shoulder-drooping pose la! tee-hee)
What's with that bunny-tooth grin, Jin -oo-
Our table was an equal distribution of male and female (Fong's an outsider here),
too bad the food portion was gender-biased. Hmpph!
Whilst I had my backside facing the stage, people like MarkLim, Jeffrey and wifey had the view of a pillar. Haha..lesson learnt - to come early to a wedding din din for the best seats in the room!
Fong in black stokings...Phuittt!
'Cute as a button' Jin & Moon
Can't get any cuter than this...especially if you have a photographer like yours truly! >.<
Let me show you what we had...Shark's Fin Soup (of course!)
Herbal Chicken wrapped in bag

At the funeral of Mr Fish (notice the 'flowers' strewn over it?)

Curried Prawns - only half plate left when I suddenly remembered to take a photo of it!
Fried Rice with teeny-weeny Anchovies
Broccoli and Mushroom Dish

My fave was this Dessert!

Choy Phyll/ Jeffrey/ Mark : "YAM YAM YAM YAAAAAAAMMM.......SENG!"
Moon : "yam seng"
May you have a happy and blissful marriage, J&J =^.^=

I Hate Needles! (unless I wanted to sew something)

I hate needles-which was why my only role was cheerleader to Jin and Yin on the day they decided to part with some blood (not to mention p*ss) for their general screening profile. Naah I was just kidding about the fear of needles...well, at least not up to the point of being trypanophobic (googled word) about it. And I certainly did not betray my friends by tricking them into going to Pathlab while myself pulling out the last minute. Sorry girls, it just wasn't the most convenient time to do it. Hey, at least I fasted with you girls the night before... :-)
This buletin board would look better at our Health Department la.
Cheers for your bravery to make it here!
I'm so strong, who needs a medical check-up?!
I've never seen anyone so happy after p*ssing in a bottle!
Seriously they should make bigger bottle opening for females coz it's not like we have an aiming 'hose' like the opposite sex. It's no fun getting p*ss on our hands.

Wow, who looks THIS happy getting poked with a syringe...especially when there just wasn't enough blood and the syringe was left in there for what felt like a forever 30 seconds! Poor Jin...
Now, THIS is how a person would normally react!
Urine? Checked.
Blood? Checked.
Btw, I can't believe the lab actually allowed me to take all these shots.
Hoho, you ladies are now scarred for LIFE!!
It was RM 75 (after 50% disc) for the Wellness Screen (46 tests). Fyi, this Pathlab branch in PJ Old Town was a one-woman show alright. She was the receptionist, cashier, consultant as well as the one who took their blood sample too! Won't be surprised if behind closed doors, she puts on a lab coat and voila, does the blood/urine testing herself.
So, 3 days later...the results were out and despite all confidentiality issues (hehe), I'm proud to announce I have 2 very healthy friends! Just never slack in working out, guys.
Now i wonder, when's MY turn to get checked...hmmm..

Ever Tried Your Hands (And Legs) in a LRT Hunt? ^.^

I just did..on 15/11, thanks to our Sports Club for organising the first ever LRT Hunt! For a mere RM10 (plus throw in a free run-of-the-mill plain white T-Shirt, breakfast and lunch), there was no doubt in my mind that I was definitely gonna try my hands (and legs) at my first treasure hunt. And I was so 'gung-ho' on running it like I was in TARA (minus hottie hostie, Allan Wu)..Hey, girls dream these things too, ya know... So here we were, all 25 teams sacrificing our sleep on a Sat morn to register as early as 8am! According to the game captains, it was to prevent us from 'melting' under the blazing hot mid-day sun as the entire hunt takes up about 5 hours! Little did we know that the opposite weather condition actually prevailed as you will soon see below...
Poor us had to sit on the floor of our lobby for a Melayu-style 'duduk bersila' breakfast of beehoon and kuih.
It was pretty cool that Ina and Elly had matching 'tudungs'.
Jin, Yin (my Hunt-partner!), Derek, Me and Shir Ley (Jin's partner)...The little bit of forehead in the background belongs to Jeffrey (Derek's partner)
Hey we had team spirit too, Yin and I came in matching underwear! (or so we claimed...teehee!)
Oops, reason I look constipated is because I do not usually eat breakfast SO early in the morning! Definitely not THAT much too.
Group shot - Yin, Jin, Shir Ley, Me, Tan and May Kwan
This 'before' photo definitely shows a more 'fresh and excited' us. Wait till you see the sweaty and sticky us 'after'.
We were flagged off by invited guest, Mr Syukri (Senior VP, HR)
I give you 10 secs to try and spot me...Here's a clue, I have my hand up!
Let's move it, move it! We started from AXA office and travelled light, sporting our Nikes or Adidas as it was literally a foot race. Believe it or not, my trusty old tattered umbrella was the most useful thing I carried that day as it was pouring at one time!
This was what all of us were doing the entire hunt, scampering around town with the blurrest (is there such a word?) look on our faces. Whole idea of this hunt was to pinpoint the exact signboard/roadsign based on the given clues. There were about 30 questions in all and 4 treasure items we had to purchase (which turned out to be a 7-up drink, Snickers bar, Ribena and Dutch Lady Strawberry Milk). Such a headache deciphering those cryptic clues, especially for a first-timer. Still, we managed to amuse ourselves coming up with all possible answers!
Winning tip to 'NOT FOLLOW' from Derek and Jeffrey - A full stomach makes a clear mind so feel free to make constant stops for food along the hunt!
Vivian and Farah (who came late, still managed to down her breakfast in lightning speed, goes to prove you need breakfast for energy so early in the morn!)

Jin and Shir Ley discussing strategy?
The hunt brought us to the following stations, Bukit Bintang-Chow Kit (Monorail), PWTC-Masjid Jamek (Star) and Masjid Jamek-KLCC (Putra). We even got a RM 10 subsidy each for our train fare.

Here's one of the answers to one of the clues, Flyyeti.com.
Another example,
Q: Male part of love
A: HELO
(as in 'he' refers to male and 'lo' is part of the word 'love')
HELO is the brand you find on those public phone booths you see around.
Q: Looks like Spielberg's robot launders here.
A: Wah Li Dry Cleaners (one of the shops we passed along the hunt trail..Wall-E sounds like Wah Li, get it?)
Nail-biting, brain-gruelling time for May Kwan and Moon, who called themselves M&M (what a chic name!)
'This hunt sucks.!' Suriyani gives the thumbs down... teehee..
The final hunting ground was inside KLCC! Aaah thank God for the air-con environment. No time to relax though for one thing I learnt, TIMING was everything in a hunt!
Another lesson learnt was not to bother how strangers were starring at me walking around in circles like a blur 'sotong' with clipboard in one hand and scratching my head with the other.

Hey reminds of another cool clue found in KLCC...
Q: Pasu mewah menjelma bila diterbalikkan
A: TOPSHOP (as in an anagram, when you twist the letters around, you get Posh Pot = Pasu Mewah... Told you it wasn't an easy feat!)
Final pit-stop was at this counter in our AXA Training Center, Ampang - just 5 minutes away from KLCC. Run run run...we gotta make it to base before the time penalty kicks in.
Thanks to a very enthusiastic cabbie, we touched base pretty much on the dot!
We can't help but noticed that one of the Captains looked so much like Vijay!
Here we are submitting our torn and tattered entry with scribble written all over it! Haha, how bout YOU try protecting a piece of paper from getting drenched in the rain with the wind blowing and your umbrella leaking... :<
Boy oh Boy, with my stomach growling, lunch was EVERYTHING I looked forward to then...
Certainly these beauties do not look like they've just completed a 5-hr mad course of LRT Hunt? Well, I did felt my legs were killing me then and I had to shut down my brain briefly for some regeneration of brain-cells!
Tan and Lim were constantly at loggerheads with each other. Probably just living up to the name of their group, 'FC' (which stands for 'Fai-Chai' in Cantonese, not very polite for me to explain what it means here...hehe). Tan, so much for trying to psycho us into trading answers with you, luckily we were so stubborn about it, otherwise we would have gotten more wrong answers! muahaha...*hidung tinggi*
A bunch of good buddies!
The best part of that day was when we learnt that team Sagittarius came out tops for the hunt. That's Yin and I!! >,<
M&M team came real close with only 4 points away from us...haha but we still BEAT cha!
Great job to Shuk Yee and her partner in 3rd placing!
Proof of how much (blood) and sweat (not to mention, rain water) we poured into this hunt! :oP
Here's another question which required us to buy an item:
Q: Although chocolate is its main ingredient, a broken weapon makes up part of this brand.
Hint : The clue 'broken' here means this word is an anagram, the weapon here refers to 'keris'. Play around with the letters and it is part of a bigger brand.
A : SNICKERS
(We bought a MARS bar instead coz we thought it was an anagram of 'arms'..weapon mah, but then again it has to be part of a bigger word and not make up the entire word)...haha hope I didn't just confuse you more... >.<
