pao xiang on genting kelang :-(

Today i feel like doing community service by sharing my experience of dining at Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh branch on Jalan Genting Kelang. With the name and place a famous household name in Klang, i would have thought this outlet would live up to its reputation. But my oh my, was i dead disappointed.

Nevermind that i have no freaking idea how to differentiate the different parts of the meat...

 ...or the spare parts.

 Nevermind that i have no clue watsoever about which type of tea to choose...

 ..coz i dun even drink tea!

 What i couldn't quite tolerate was the fact that since they were charging us quite a bit for the food, and tea...

- the waiters and waitress who served us weren't friendly at all;
- we had to refill our own teapots with boiling water, walking in and out of the shop numerous times;

 - they served our rice on plates instead of bowls (as requested earlier) and their refusal to change it into bowls (due to pure laziness, they nonchalantly told us 'mangkuk habis') was beyond us.

 - they reallyreallyreally stinge on the soup ler. If i couldn't even scoop a spoonful of soup, don't even talk about dipping my you tiao into the soup. Usually i love flooding my rice with the soup and eat it with lots of cili padi, but here all i could do was stare at my rice, oh so dry and white.

(Nothing beats the traditional BKT claypot style where the seller would proudly entertain its customers who keeps on yelling 'ga tong, ga tong' (that's 'add soup, add soup').



- the soup wasn't even hot. Felt icky drinking lukewarm BKT soup. What a letdown..I had to add in the cili padi just to feel the 'heat' of the soup.

- finally, while the only consolation was their very tender pork, i didn't enjoy the taste of the soup. It felt diluted without the BKT 'Ooo-MPH'!! Takda kick langsung ler!

Even the Chinese tea tasted more original.

And after a while, i started picking on the vegetables more than the other dishes.

With the prices they're charging, this newly-opened outlet had better lose that air of cockiness and buck up on their services or else there'll be no repeat customers. I personally know a few around my area who has had similar horrible experience dining there.
