at charlene's

i am pretty much beat-up; have been coming home at midnight for the past few days :(

that's the price to pay for having too much fun during cny .. hehe :)
for example, how can i say no when a girlfriend invites a few of us over to her house for a quote unquote 'simple dinner'. and especially when my friend's name is charlene, we all know that there is nothing 'simple' about her dinner!

this is her house in kenny hills. i was really impressed by all the home-made tanglungs in her house.

it was more like an ex-HLA staff gathering and it was great to see everyone again after so long.

oops, jason and gf, emenly gets no airtime coz they were late. lol.
anyway, luckily i got a picture of the chef of the night.

chef's dad calling out for us to gather at the table for a lousang.
let the tossing begin!
nothing came close to the dinner charlene prepared for us....
1. Grilled Chicken Drummets
2. Braised Yee Mee ... ok this was the only thing that was bought from outside (i think)
3. Potato Salad had great class.
4. nothing beats fresh crispy vegetables for a balanced meal.
5. these giant-sized sausages were to DIE for!
6. charlene's signature fried rice tastes as good as it looks!
the guys just ate and ate and ate...'cept MY guy who had limited stomach capacity.
7. last but not least, what surprised us most was when charlene brought out what seemed like an endless supply of bbq pork ribs. there were rack after rack of ribs. sh*t man, the meat was so freaking tender and juiceh, ten thumb ups to charlene!
(sorry single guys, this incredibly talented chef is not available)
8. oh wait, and who could forget these simple-looking yet one of the best crispy garlic bread i've ever tasted; i could eat a dozen of these!
what better way to pamper our taste-buds than to savour all the food with world-class wine.
remember these brands and you would not be disappointed.

peter's face looking swollen...too much wine?

we all went home stomach-happy.
not to mention, bladder-happy (from all that wine)... (hic)
