Cuti-cuti in Damai Laut (Lumut, Perak)

Back in March 2019, we had a brief outing at Damai Laut together with friends and their families. It's always fun driving up north as we got to stop and dine at various small towns along the way. If you're a Malaysian, you definitely know what I'm talking about.

Our first 'educational' stop was the Segari Turtle Sanctuary. Yup, why go all the way to Rantau Abang when there's a turtle farm just about a stone's throw away.

There were turtles of all sizes and ages in this conservation centre, truly an eye-opener for the kids.
This sanctuary is home to Malaysia's green sea turtles where quite a number of species are getting extinct, such as the Leatherback turtle.
The baby turtles were such cutesies.

Big group = big fun! I think there were more kids than adults too.

Another place of attraction is the Tua Pek Kong temple in Pasir Panjang, Sitiawan. A row of giant, white statues stand grand over the seas of Straits of Malacca.

Nothing like a huge compound for the kids to go crazy.

Impressive just to walk about the temple surrounding.

Cheeky bottom!

No, this is NOT the Leaning Tower - that's in Teluk Intan.

Taking turns throwing coins for good luck/ fortune.
Lots of opportunities for great photos.

And then it was dinnertime!

This place had good ribs indeed.

One for the album.

What excites the kids the most was beach time. We got all the time in the world to frolick on our own hotel's private beach.

It is just so therapeutic having the waves lapping on my feet.
Sooner or later, one dad is sure to be the buried victim.

Hayley was still too afraid of stepping onto the water so she hung onto me like a koala bear.

Tons of sand castle tools brought by the mommies to keep the kids fully occupied.

What comes second to the beach was the hotel's pool!

Swiss-Garden Beach Resort is such a family-oriented resort that allows its occupants to wander about amongst wandering (harmless) birds.

There was even a Kids' Corner in the resort with a mini play area, mini theatre with bean bags, colouring corners, and many more attractions.

No prizes for guessing who was the most drained by the end of our trip. :)
