redang escapade continues....

Day 2 on Redang island kicked off to a great start with a nice bowl of century egg porridge and a hot mug of Milo.
Some went for the Fried Noodles. At this point, i was convinced the cook was a Chinese from the meals they've cooked for us so far. Not even a single spicy or curried dish. =.=
After breakfast, more lazying around on the beach.
Nothing feels more carefree than when i'm swinging in a hammock. You must be longing for this moment too.
As the rest of the gang went for their second snorkeling session (in Marine Park), i stayed back for a quiet relaxing couple of hours on shore.
Thank God i've got my cool shades with me :)
Throw in a 'Hot' mag and my mp3 player, and life by the beach is just perfect!
How i wish i can have this view at my backyard.
The gang came back around noon and were so hungry, they gobbled up their lunch before i could even ask 'How was snorkeling?'

Poor Samantha scratched her leg pretty bad during snorkeling. And Polly gives an Oscar-worthy performance in expressing her surprise over it. Bravo...

Gotta walk off the calories after a heavy lunch....
Now, when was the last time i saw nature at its best?...
aahh..must be during my NZ trip :)

Here are some cwazee random shots we all took..

yiipeeee!!!
Any idea which one's mine?
Chee Foong found a remarkably large piece of coral?!
My prized shot of Chee Foong's impression of a zombie right before the 'mini' terminator slashes him with a coral.
(ok, it's actually just a piece of styrofoam ler....but looked like a coral right? LOL)
me me meeee!!
Not easy to capture this shot of multiple layers of waves u know?
Dear pretending he's wearing ballerina slippers when in actual fact, he just dipped his wet feet into the sand. Goes to show how white and fine the sand in Redang is. Love the feel of walking on it.
Final attempt to get the perfect 'in mid-air' shot....
tired la after so many takes....
akhirnya someone jatuh tersungkur pulak...wakakaka...
Personally, i'm glad we stayed in Redang Reef instead of Laguna which i think looked more touristy and commercialised with its own pool, modern chalets and all.
Our final dinner was a wonderful BBQ Dinner, which of course didn't require me to do the cooking.
Overall food was great, accommodation was tolerable but the company was the most priceless.

This was a really 'siao' gang and there's simply never a dull moment with this bunch of guys. It was so much fun that we even got to dance at a beach disco on the last night.
The following day, on our arrival to Kuala T'ganu town, we got to walk around a bit and stumbled upon this small humble restaurant which in fact turned out to be quite famous and was even featured on this month's edition of Flavours mag.
Awesome, as if we struck gold!
The food was reasonably priced at around RM 6+ per plate and here's some of what we ordered....all their house specialty.

Suspicious looking but quite nice pengat pisang.
Tried their lekor which when steamed, tasted just like eating fish cake.
Very small town without any tourists seen walking about...except for the bunch of us finding our way around like a pack of lost lamb.
Our GPS brought us to this durian stall, much to the delight of some very 'durian-crazed' fans.
Overall, really glad i went back to Redang after all these years and glad to see the place still being well-maintained. No wonder the foreigners like coming back to this particular island; there are no man-eating sharks here...
...and the scenery is always a breathtaking one.
Yes, ripples in the water may come and go...
..and footprints may get lost in the sand...
but you can always be assured of a feel-good time in Redang; one that's close to nature ...  (what i mean is it's so hot and sunny here, wearing less is best!)
This is Redang island!
Redang boleh!
