INSPIRAtional FIESTA

I had just seen a tv ad where M. Schumacher drives a super hot-looking car known as the SLS AMG. I checked with ah-googoo (just curious to know if it's sold here) and YES it is! At an astounding price of RM 1,999,999. And that before tax of another RM 900k. What a heck of a price for this 6.2l V8 gem of a car!

OK Sylvia, come back to reality....

Two words have been playing in our minds recently ... 'fiesta' and 'inspira'.

The recently launched FordFiesta has been receiving rave reviews (almost all positive) even before it reached Msian shores.

So we decided to jump on the first chance we got for a free test-drive.

Apparently, that was what half of KL was thinking too.

OK la, exaggerated a bit...but still, there was a wait for our turn.

Finally!

FordFiesta has a 1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT engine with 6-speed Automatic Dual Clutch Powershift Transmission. Everything about it just sounded bombastic to me until dear explained how this new technology actually delivers higher fuel economy. Something about alternating shifts between dual clutches, blah blah... *blur*

Surprisingly, the main focus was on their 1.6L Hatchback (A), also available in 1.4L (M). This model is even more expensive at RM 84,888 as it came with full spec.

While the hatchback's sporting an edgier look for both interior and exterior, the sedan's a more suitable option as a family car.

Here's how the inside looks like for both models.

Too bad the sedan only comes with a single airbag for the driver while the hatchback has dual bags.

As attractive as their extended warranty is,

..because it is so new here (and perhaps because of the overdemand), no salesmen were allowed to give any discount from the published rates.

On the other hand, 'wannabe' owners of a Mitsubishi Lancer have been smiling from ear to ear with the launch of Proton Inspira.

For only RM 79,xxx , what do you think are the odds of someone getting an Inspira and replacing the logo with something that reads 'Mitsubishi' or 'Lancer'?
