attractions in malacca (apart from me..hee)

If you're wondering how to spend the upcoming holidays (and i mean labour day, baby!), i have an idea...
Go grab a girlfriend......find the most jovial-looking friend like the one below, Better yet, to double up the fun and excitement, find another girlfriend just like the first (dun get any ideas, guys)
Avoid (at all cost) any babies who'll give you everything but a 'goo-goo gaa-gaa' time.
However, 'BIG' babies like my lady boss here are welcomed to join ^_^
Pick a new car (!) to travel long distance in and if it is the car's maiden outstation trip, you need a reasonably capable, sensibly CALM driver to handle the wheels. This is lady boss's car btw as she so glaaaadly hands over the keys to the designated driver. If necessary, it might take up to 3 persons to ensure a full tank of petrol for the road-trip.
Then you drive
and drive
and drive........
and eventually, you'll reach your destination (where else but MALACCA!) and the first thing you do is check into your hotel!
my house back in Malacca
Then go do the many things one can do in Malacca, such as -
Enjoy the sights of the sea and city on a RM10 snail-paced ride of the 'Eye on Malaysia'. So far, can't say I've heard too good a buzz about it..can't say for myself though - all i know is it'll take A LOT to try it out myself! (heehee)
Just one of dem touristy places...outdoor setting makes the colours look awesome here..nuff said.
You might recognise this artistic piece of artwork found inside Dataran Pahlawan, just a few steps away from the A Famosa fort.
Whaddaya know, Malacca's not all about history and its more-than-200 museums - you can do lots of shopping here too!
It's teddy-bear hunting season!
One should never forgo strolling down the hawker-filled, heritage enriched Jonker Walk (along Jalan Hang Jebat). So many souvenir shops selling adorable-looking, reasonably-priced mementoes to buy back for your loved ones! It never ceases to amaze me the number of new shops cropping up in Jonker St each time i come back here, I'm usually the one with all the 'oohs and aahs' instead.
These little handphone/ bag straps make the perfect gift! where's mine, Jin...
and these wooden lamps are so gorgeous looking, they're just right if you want a dimly-litted bedroom.
My lady boss on the other hand, prefers a lamp like this for her bedroom.
Never feel coy to let loose in Jonker Walk...go ahead, spread your arms in the air or dig your nose in public.
For kicks, buy something you look siLLy in
Get some (wayyy) undersized clogs. They're fridge magnets btw.
There's always something for everyone, from head...
...to body,
...to toe!
This is the highly renowed Geographer Cafe on Jonker.
I can SO imagine myself sipping a cool mugga Heineken here...cheers!
And if you're looking for some local snacks and biscuits to buy back home, head to the San Shu Gong outlet at the corner-end of Jonker. The packaging's first-class, I tell you. The food items? The noteworthy ones for me would be the Cili Padi sauce, Tau Sar Pia, Beh Teh So, Honey Lime Drink and Kacang Tumbuk.
Shopping's done, you can finally chill by taking a walk along the Portuguese Settlement
You want a good pair of socks lest the sharp rocks cut your feet,
and most importantly... a bunch of other people to pull off the au naturale look!

More to come...stay tuned!
