Sunday Afternoon Out...

It was a Sunday and after my hike up Bkt Gasing, here i was feeling so lazy (and hungry) in the afternoon..when Yin2 came to the rescue...! Luckily she was in my area and decided to pop by my place.....so within like 5 hrs, we really went places...fully maximise the time going to...

1. Diethelm warehse sale on Jln Univ (sorry no photos as the place was too packed) where all I bought was 5 bottles of A&W RootBeer..can't help it, it was going at a remarkably cheap price of RM1...err, did i mention it expires in about a mth's time?

2. Chef Loong Restaurant, SS 2: Yup, I had always longed to try this place ever since it opened about a yr ago. I think the chef was from some famous hotel, now venturing out on his own. This place serves nice HK snacks, dimsum and dessert and finding this place is rather easy as it is opposite the outdoor 'wai sek kai' (mamak stalls) and you can't miss its RED signboard.
Look at our 'healthy' drinks ...aaahh so rejuvenating and full of ginseng! Yin2's drink has a carrot stick in it too! To prevent them from reusing the janggut2 ginseng and for the good of mankind, we used them as an ingredient for our concoction of 'leftovers' above! hahaha...
Hmm..this is the real deal...Claypot Mushroom Chicken..tasty meat but the rice needs more dark sauce..So, still The Weld's or Boustead's is better.
They have sofas to give you the homey, cozy feeling.

Entrance of the shop...it closes around 3pm to prepare for din din time.
Pick from a variety of desserts, dim sum and drinks.
I'm gonna try the Piggy Dim Sum next time!

Yin2 shooting an advertorial for the shop...
Terrified Me and a bowl of dumpling!

Their specialty, Shanghai Spicy Dumpling

3. Ramadhan Bazaar in Sec 14 : So much variety of kueh-mueh
Ikan Bakar

This stall sells a gigantic pot of Bubur Lambuk! What's in it actually?...
Pulut Panggang...some glutinous rice stuffed with sweet shrimp coconut rempah thingy and wrapped in some leaf...nicccceee...
Whole goatie for sale!

More kueh up close! going for 40 cents a piece is a kill!
Check out the queue for the famous popiah basah stall...even came out in the papers before. Me? I still prefer the chinese popiah...nothing beats the distinctive taste of biting into the 'chu yao char' (pork lard) or 'lap cheong' (chinese sausage)...haha....*guilty*

Tepung pelita..one of my faves!
Soooo many dishes to choose for your nasi campur/ beriani/ dagang...

Yin2, hands empty...not buying anything?

ps - aiya another of my fave, Roti Jala not in the picture...why boleh lupa...i got myself a Roti Boom!
4. yipppeee... Home sweet Home....my block in Pantai Panorama Condo!...
yipppee...COULD be my future home...yeah dream on! this is the UOA development of Bangsar South..here i am standing in front of the show gallery. Its Parked Residences starts from RM 600+K for 1,900+ sq.ft.....now imagine coming to visit me here one day..... ><

Every single day i pass by the construction site...impressive! as works are progressing fast.

5. Alexis Bangsar : op, cannot go back first...got hunger pangs for Tiramisu in Alexis. known to be so highly recommended by Steven Leung...this is how it looks like..My review : a good twist to the regular Tiramisu as it is topped with crunchy caramelised nuts! doesn't really go well with the strawberry syrup though...(not chilli sauce, dear!)
2 soh pohs taking photo...haha not so easy for me k..notice my stretched arms..?
me browsing the mags...

...and looking so excited to see some recipes!
Front of Alexis
quickly take can or not...can hardly open my eyes la !

Thanks Yin for the Char siew and Siu Yok which, after following us to so many places...I only got to enjoy it at night....and it still tasted sooooo gooood! got some more ar?
That concludes my brief yet sweeet Sunday afternoon eating rendezvous!
