Tucked away in the quieter part of Taman Melawati is shop number 7, a hidden gem of good food in the most relaxed setting.
Dont rely on the shop sign board when finding this place - there is none except for a cute little placard that says 'Miss Ellie Tea House'.
My kind of place and food for a gratifying afternoon of delights!
Start off with your light meals and end with your desired dessert!
You will be pleasantly surprised the minute you walked through the door... Somehow i felt like a huge amount of stress dissipated from my body! Probably due to the aroma of fresh bakes.. Aaah..
So nice that kids are being thought of too as there are lots of doodle boards around to keep the kids away from finishing up your cakes!
Their famous scones is a must try... I chose Plain and Raisin, a pair for RM 10.50 and they are served with whipped cream and strawberry-thyme jam. Though not too buttery, the texture is indeed perfect and not too dry.
My verdict - totally fell in love with them as they tasted original, rich yet not too sweet! Finally someone out there actually makes cupcakes to suit the desire of the more health conscious society.
Caramel doesnt taste so sweet after all when it's salted!
Tea-smoked Salmon Salad with citrus miso dressing (RM 15.50) is a light and healthy alternative to the more popular yet rich Caesar Salad.
Fancy some Bangers & Mash, anyone? RM 16.50 gets you a pair of tender chicken wieners on top of buttery mash and salad. Wished there were more sauce though.
That was all my stomach could stuff in that day. Would love to try their other creations like the Australian Beef Casserole and popular Creme Brulee, one day.
So please feel free to invite me for tea or brunch anytime.
