Mid June - Mid July is fruit season in my kampung as there is an abundance of rambutan, pulasan, lime, jackfruit and d-u-r-i-a-n! This was only my 3rd time on dad's land..did not expect to follow him up..that's how i ended up wearing mum's pants and oversized shirt..i think i looked more like a horse rider..
Dad feeds 'Lady', one of the dogs that accompanies him on the land...
Hanging durian..the fruit is tied to a branch if it is too huge..so it doesnt fall to the ground and crack open!
A cracked durian drops tremendously in value..
Let me introduce some of dad's Durians..we arrange for interested buyers too!
Bottom (R) : Durian Kampung...not too high in demand due to its smaller fruit, little flesh & high in supply...but my dad used to say every fruit is different and unique in taste..i couldnt agree more...
Top (L) : Durian Susu (milky white flesh and rather meaty)
Left : No. 13
Top (R) : No. 99 (very sweet taste)
The Best of the Best...'Ang Heh'...a trick to best enjoy the Ang Heh is to make a tiny opening of the fruit outer layer and slowly suck out the pungent, creamy flesh...truly heavenly! mann, makes me crave for Ang Heh now... @_@
WOW, you dad's durians are mouth watering...I could smell them over this website ;)
