2014 cny memoirs

Oh oh, that time of the year to get fat again. But for a very good reason - everybody is looking to prosper.
In all ways.

First day of cny and looking out my window at the sight of a ghost town. Except for that white passing car.

It is cny when someone finally opens up that can of abalone that has been sitting on the shelves since the last cny.

Everybody in Imbi wants to join in the Prosperity Toss!

Dear looking sharp with his polo T while i was in something i bought like 4 years ago? *gulp, secret out*.
Sorry, did not buy a single cny outfit this year. hahaha..

Darren went traditional and fitted snugly in his white 'wong fei hung' outfit.

Darren's cousins, Tristan...

 ..and Dave.

Great grandma catching a pose with Darren.

That looks like a "quicccckk, i can't hold dem any longer" smile.

Led by my cousin Alicia (in blue), yet another charitable donation of RM 5xxx worth of Tesco goodies was given out.

Back in M'cca, there weren't much of a bonding between the cousins who are only 6 months apart. So we often placed them together. hehe.

Shy Dave with daddy

Mom prepared all the fresh ingredients and her fave yong tau foo...

... for a sumptuous steamboat.

Who hasn't tried my dad's famous cincau drink.....your LOSS! hahahaa...

My bro and his exaggerative ideas led to the creation of a mini i-City at my house. He actually lugged that cherry blossom tree all the way from Singapore. My my...

Back in KL, i went house hopping as usual.
But not before filling our stomachs first.

Lunch at Xiang Fu Xiang Cheng Hunan Restaurant in Scott Garden, Old Klang Road.

So this is what Hunan people eat eh?

The restaurant even provided a basket of Hunan toys for Darren to play with!

ok, they were normal toys la...
A collection of toys left behind by previous diners? o_o

We went to Belinda's new SOHO crib.

Selfie time.....

Choy Phyll dropped by, fresh from a Port Dickson tan.

Then, we went to Jin's house to see little Samuel, who doesn't look so little anymore!

This is how an iPad bonds two kids together.

Selfie is great fun ...as long as you're not the one holding the handphone cam! LOL

This is Mary's garden...

and this is Mary's purple orchid.

Time to drop by Wei Ling's house.
She was soooooo hospitable, she must have invited us 10 times to go for Hometown steamboat near her house.

Then at Fong's house...together with other kids that her mom was babysitting at that time.
This sweet kid is the same age as Darren!

With Fong's mommy dearest...

Final selfies of cny...

..till next year!

And it's a wrap!

wong kok opens in cheras sentral

This is not like any other Wong Kok Char Chan Teng.
This one's the newly-opened branch number 22 located in Cheras Sentral (formerly Phoenix Plaza). Most importantly, this one's franchise-owned by Mark's friends, Chin Siong (and wife Mei Yen) and James.

This was the opening ceremony of this famous restaurant chain.

Fresh flower standees to congratulate the proud owners.
A packed restaurant is a positive sign for any business owner. Some customers had to be turned away as a small section of the restaurant was closed for family and friends who attended the opening ceremony.
Buffet spread for the private guests.

What a creative way of displaying the fruit platter.
Every opening of a new business calls for a lion dance to chase away the bad spirits and to bring nothing but good luck and prosperity for a flourishing business ahead.

With Stephanie and lil Abby.
Yea, Darren was being pacified as he was up to one of his mini tantrums.

Group photo with the new business owners.

I will definitely dine here if i'm around the area - food's great for the price to pay. The environment's cosy and spacious while i dive into my plate of Crispy Hong Kong Noodle and Red Bean Sherbet. What's best? I get to go shopping after my meal. =)

Young or old, there's definitely something for everyone!

Wishing them 'Thriving Enterprise and Prosperous Business" (sang yi heng loong)!!
